By going back and replaying an older section, you'll be able to change the past and create a better (or worse) future world for the characters. Tell Me Why centers on identical twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan as they rediscover their childhood through contradicting memories and mysterious visions. Each episode has four or five major choices that have major consequences for the story, while there are dozens of smaller decisions you make that will subtly influence your options later on in the story. Tell Me Why is an interactive adventure video game developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the developers of the Life is Strange franchise, and published by Xbox Game Studios. When you go back to replay a section of an episode, you have the option of "collectible mode" which lets you go back with the intention of just collecting the optional photos for your journal, or you can re-write over your existing progress and replay a chapter to change the narrative's course. Match up the sketch with the right viewing angle and you should see a new "photo" action pop up. Most sections also have some optional photo opportunities that are shown as sketches in your journal. The game will be free on Windows PC and Xbox One now until June 30.
Each episode is about two hours to play through once, but you may find yourself going back and replaying key moments to see what happened in the alternate timelines. Tell Me Why, the narrative adventure game from Dontnod, the developers of Life is Strange, is free on all platforms.
